Division Chief Paul Pilotte
Chief
Pilotte grew up in Carmel Valley and began his fire service
career there, joining the newly formed Mid Valley Fire District
as a volunteer and charter member in 1976. He worked for two
fire seasons with the California Division of Forestry before
being hired as a Firefighter for Salinas Rural Fire Protection
District in January of 1980. Paul was promoted to
Lieutenant in 1989, Captain in 1990 and Division Chief in 2006
Chief Pilotte is a graduate of Carmel High School and Monterey
Peninsula College with an Associate of Science degree in Fire
Protection Technology. He holds many fire service certifications
by the California State Fire Marshall’s office including Fire
Fighter I, Fire Officer, Fire Instructor, Fire Prevention
Officer, Fire Investigator, Operations Section Chief and Chief
Officer.
Paul and his wife Lia make their home in Corral de Tierra with
their two dogs. They enjoy world travel as well as biking,
hiking, wine and fine dinning.
